Traffic Accidents
Many lawsuits resulting from serious injury or death in traffic accidents have allegations of design flaws for roadway, signing, striping, signals, etc. We apply our traffic engineering expertise to evaluate such issues and advise our clients as to whether there are defective traffic engineering features. Typically, we research the details of the accident and the traffic engineering features present at the time of the crash. We report our findings to our client and, if requested to do so, prepare a report discussing the traffic engineering issues and possible relationship to the crash. Our experts are available to testify in deposition and trial.
Right of Way Condemnation
New transportation facilities such as new freeways or light rail frequently result in access changes to abutting property. We apply our extensive experience in transportation planning and traffic impact analysis to evaluate those access changes and provide a report explaining how the Before Condition access compares with the After Condition. This explanation of the two access scenarios can then be used by appraisers to determine possible severance damages resulting from changes in access.
